Equipment Purchasing 

There may be times when a family finds themselves unable to purchase much needed equipment for their loved one. Participants may also experience difficulty when their insurance does not cover an item. Legacy can assist to obtain the necessary equipment and when necessary, make calls and inquiries on your behalf. 

 

The items requested address the participant's identified need, such as improving and maintaining their opportunities for full community membership. The item requested decreases the need for other Medicaid services, promotes community inclusion, increases the participant’s safety at home, and is unavailable through other sources. 

 

How does it work:

 

If the participant lacks the funds to purchase the item, Legacy will buy it on their behalf upon approval from the Division of Developmental Disabilities. Legacy will apply a 5% processing fee. Legacy will ensure the item is delivered and take care of any issues like damage or replacement. 

 

Please note that Legacy cannot refund or cancel orders but will make every effort to resolve any dissatisfaction with the store or manufacturer.
