Enrichment Classes​

At Legacy Empowerment Services, we believe there is no substitute for collaborative learning. We offer a variety of individual or group classes that are led by certified teachers and professionals in a variety of fields. The following are just a few of the classes we offer and are customized based on age and current ability level:

Assistive Technology Training

Learn how to use your adapted devices or specialized software/apps to increase independence in the home, workplace, or school.

Basic Computer Skills

Intimidated by computers? New to email and the Internet? Curious about operating systems and online safety? Learn more about using web browsers, navigate Windows 10 and OS X, increase your typing speed, perform clerical skills, and stay safe online. You’ll be tech savvy in no time.

Career Exploration

Learn about the vocational, communication, and self-advocacy skills that are necessary to prepare for competitive employment and meet requirements needed for DVRS services.

Money Management

Learn how to make a simple budget, use a debit card and gain skills to manage income and expenses. Instruction also focuses on how to balance a checkbook, how to pay bills both via mail and online and making simple online purchases.  

Virtual Gardening

Take a virtual farm and garden tour, and get daily tips to use in your own home just take soil, seeds, water and a few plastic cups to grow healthy herbs and vegetables.

Music Exploration

​

Our instructors will introduce music appreciation through exploration of various genres of music and music history, and encouraging musical awareness by gaining awareness of musical sounds and playing with a variety of sound sources. Explore music through movement, listening, and playing unpitched percussion instruments (such as drums and rhythm sticks). Participants will discover the art of writing musical instruments.  

Writing Essentials

Improve grammar, vocabulary, syntax, and explore different writing styles.
