We use all the current trends in our approach to working with each participant. Our formula is never based on a cookie-cutter approach. Each individual is unique and so is the way in which they learn.
When working with our adult participants, our team of professionals will create a plan that is personalized and aligned with the goals found in the participant’s Individualized Support Plan (ISP) and Person-Centered Planning Tool. When working with our younger participants we use the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to find the best way to design a lesson plan.
We identify a strategy, develop curriculum and design the best approach to instruct. The Legacy team of instructors understand that one approach may work today but not the next. We adjust our approach as needed to reduce frustration and increase enthusiasm.
All of the tasks that our participants are working on are meticulously broken down which allows for your loved one to master each task before moving on to the next task. Our instructors will never move on to a new task until they have assured that a particular task has been mastered.
Personalized learning is an educational approach that aims to customize learning for each individual’s strengths, needs, skills and interests. The plan is based on how he learns and what they know. Personalized learning also prioritizes a clear understanding of the needs and goals of each individual and the tailoring of instruction to address those needs and goals. Our instructors also work at the participant’s pace and will never rush but will always encourage.
Now during COVID, technology has become a very important part of how our services are delivered. Our instructors are not only knowledgeable of all the latest trends, but pride themselves on learning up and coming trends.
Our team of instructors has weekly meetings with a Regional Supervisor to review, discuss and troubleshoot any problems and or concerns that their participant may be experiencing. This ongoing collaborative effort allows the team to make sure that all of our participants are getting the highest level of service at all times.
Frequent assessments are also made to assure that progress is being made. Informal assessments are based on personal observations during sessions. Sometimes changes to how a lesson is delivered or a change to approach is necessary to ensure success.
